| tear down tobacco ads |
|
General Description of Activity Kick, punch, or run through a mural made of hundreds of tobacco ads, tearing them to shreds and sending a clear message to Big Tobacco. Get tons of people to collect as many tobacco magazine ads as you can. Invite lots of people, including a local public figure like a mayor or county commissioner to your event, and don’t forget to invite the media. Gather the ads and build the mural with your crewmembers. Craft a message for the public figure using your Raze media training. Have the person let the audience know why it is so important to stop Big Tobacco from targeting teens. Think about the media when you are setting up your mural at the event. You want the media to get good pictures. On cue from the emcee and with encouraging cheers from those invited, the crewmembers will simultaneously punch, kick or run through the mural, destroying the ads.
