The Youth Tobacco Prevention program is working with the Bureau for Behavioral HealtH.
Health Facilities' Tobacco Compliance Program to address tobacco retailers selling to underage youth. Here's how it works: if you're 16 or 17, your assignment will be to attempt to purchase tobacco products from a designated retailer to see who is doing the right thing by not selling to kids under 18.
You will be with an adult inspector, who will accompany you into the store, and an adult chaperone who stays in the car. You will even get paid for your time and earn commotion points for your crew. You can start signing up after you've turned 15 1/2 years of age. So why are you waiting? Sign up and help in the effort to ensure that retailers comply with laws prohibiting sales to minors.
